Church House

This contract involved the complete refurbishment, restoration and re-ordering of the interior of the iconic Church House, a Grade B1 listed building in Belfast.

Key features and benefits:

  • This work involved a forensic examination of the internal fabric, including a detailed assessment of the historic significance of internal elements.
  • We undertook six refurbishment and extension phases on three floor levels to enable the building with the ground floor to remain fully operational throughout the course of the project.
  • We fully refurbished and restored the 1200 seat Assembly Hall, whilst the Minor Hall, Board Room and historic offices were also refurbished and fitted to provide contemporary facilities.
  • The re-ordering work included restoration of the main entrance, reinstating the historic connection with Fisherwick Place and providing a new reception and interpretative area.
  • Our in-house specialist joinery workshop manufactured and produced a large amount of the internal joinery works, ranging from standard fit-out elements such as doors, skirting and architrave to the more delicate, ornate elements and ecclesiastical features within the building.
  • The facility has been transformed to become a multi–functional conference, concert and exhibition venue hosting up to 1500 people alongside the daily running of the Church from the upper floor office accommodation.
